We connect through what’s human,

we create through what’s real

A wedding photographer who believes in the unrepeatable

Hi, I’m Juan Pablo Velasco, an international destination wedding photographer based in Quito, Ecuador, and an active member of Fearless Photographers. Alongside documenting weddings worldwide, I share my passion for visual storytelling through workshops and conferences that have earned recognition across Latin America.

I believe in the unrepeatable. For me, wedding photography isn't just about how your day looked—it’s about how it felt.

AN EDITORIAL APPROACH WITHOUT LOSING THE SOUL

Curated composition. Raw emotion.

My signature style is a precise blend of visual sophistication, dramatic off-camera lighting, and emotional honesty. While my roots are anchored in high-end editorial aesthetics, my heart belongs to the candid human experience.

I frame with intention, like an artist would. But I move gently, like just another guest. This rare combination allows me to create images that could easily live in a fine-art gallery, yet stay forever in the place that matters most: your personal legacy.

Testimonials

Even before I was engaged, I already knew who would be the photographer at my wedding.

When that day came, everything surpassed anything I had ever imagined.

Every moment was captured with that unique sensitivity that doesn’t need to be explained—only felt. Thank you for turning our memories into art.

THIS IS HOW I CAPTURE THE INVISIBLE

Every story is unique, but all deserve the same: presence, respect, and sensitivity. This is my approach from the inside out.

01

OBSERVE WITHOUT INTERRUPTING.

I believe in being present without intruding. I observe, accompany, and wait. I don’t stage scenes or force emotions. My work begins when you can forget about the camera and simply live the moment.

02

Create the Atmosphere.

My priority is that you feel entirely like yourselves. Whether we are capturing a chic celebration in New York, an intimate elopement in Europe, or a luxury wedding in South America, I foster a calm, effortless energy. Based in Quito, Ecuador, and available worldwide, I adapt seamlessly to any culture and setting. That’s where authenticity shows up—and where real images are born.

03

SEEKING TRUE BEAUTY

I don’t chase perfection—I seek honesty.

I frame with intention, I care for the light, the form, the gesture...

but I always allow your essence to guide the image.

That’s what turns a photograph into a memory.

FAQ

Where are you based?

I live in Quito Ecuador, it's my home.

Do you prefer flash photography or natural light?

I love natural light! Natural light helps preserve the real mood and feeling at the wedding. I love using the light that I have to make the best of a situation. Of course I use flash when it gets too dark at night.

How do we book you, and when is the full payment due?

Easy! Send me an email to check if your wedding date is available. If it is and you’re happy with my packages, I’ll send over a deposit invoice and a contract to sign — that’s it! Super easy. The remaining balance is due at least one week before the wedding day. I’m also happy to help with a payment plan if needed. And of course, I’m always up for a coffee and a chat anytime!

I want some of my photographs to be exclusive and not used on the website. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Your private web site is a password protected area. Everything can be private if that is what you wish.

What do we receive, and when will we get our photographs?

You will receive a carefully curated selection of approximately 600 fully edited images. These will be delivered in both high-resolution files for printing and optimized versions for sharing on social media and email. Additionally, your full gallery and slideshow will be ready around 4 weeks after the wedding.

If you’ve ordered an album, I’ll work closely with you to ensure the design is exactly how you envision it. Once the design is approved, printing may take up to 1 additional week. Your album can be ready just a few weeks after you receive your photos.

Do you shoot with a second photographer? Or do you ever have an assistant?

Most of the time I use a second shooter. It depends on the size and complexity of the wedding.

During the day, there are moments that happen at the same time, for example the bride and groom preparations separately, or when the guests are at the cocktail time and we are doing the couple session.

No problem, everything is covered!!

How do you shoot so many weddings in such beautiful locations around the world?

I book most of my weddings from word of mouth. I make sure I put in 110% into every wedding so I can continue to book amazing clients.

Wedding blogs and magazines help me out a lot as well.

I don’t think a wedding is about the location though, its about the people and its about the love they share.

Have you ever cancelled a booking or not shown up to a wedding?

Never ever ever! And I plan on keeping it that way. If for some reason I really could not shoot your wedding for what ever reason, I do have a backup plan for that situation.

We don’t really like wedding photos where the couple are posing and forcing the smiling in every photo, We like the natural cand

I feel the same way. I wont be making you smile for every photo. In fact you won’t notice that I am there for most of the day. When it comes to the couples portraits, I can give enough direction so you feel comfortable and not to much so you are still looking very natural.

Can I purchase an Album after the wedding day?

Yes of course! You can purchase an album at any time, that includes parent albums. A lot of my clients order their album for Christmas or on their first year anniversary.

Can we meet you before the big day or ask other questions?

Absolutely! I love getting to know each couple before the wedding. If distance makes that tricky, a Zoom call is always a great option.

And if you have any other questions not listed here, feel free to reach out—I'm here for you.
